Fragment Based Drug Discovery
Fragment Based Drug Discovery (FBDD), also known as Fragment Based Lead Discovery (FBLD) is a method in lead generation where a limited set of smaller molecules, fragments, are probed for binding to the target protein.
FBDD has emerged as an alternative to traditional HTS to identify initial chemistry starting points for drug discovery programs. Smaller molecules (fragments) have led to success in delivering novel leads for many different targets.

Experience
The Gene2Leads research team has extensive drug development experience and has successfully delivered lead series and candidate drugs.
Gene2Lead
Gene2Leads research team has a long-standing industrial experience of drug discovery – especially structure based drug discovery. Our research and decision making is based on experimental data, not predictive models.
We are a fully equipped drug discovery unit with abilities from target expression to delivery of a bespoke lead series ready to enter lead optimization.
Proprietary technologies for protein production and high throughput X-ray crystallography are integrated with state-of-the-art medicinal chemistry capabilities to create a productive platform for the delivery of high-quality leads.
We operate in a tight format at the Karolinska Institute and KTH campus, with close links between disciplines and a project form with short-term decision points guiding our work.
Gene2Lead is powered by Sprint Bioscience, a drug discovery company with an oncology portfolio.
